Southampton fans were livid with the performance of Nathan Redmond during their 1-0 defeat to Wolves on Sunday.

Ralph Hasenhuttl will have been hoping for a big showing from his squad after a poor start to the Premier League campaign that left them without a win after five outings (Sky Sports), but they were once again on the losing side against the Old Gold following Raul Jimenez's solitary goal after 61 minutes.

Nathan Redmond was included in the starting line-up, playing on the left of a midfield four, but it was fair to say he did not put in an impressive display. He won just one of his four duels (SofaScore) and failed to offer enough attacking threat to help his side to a much-needed victory.

The fans were far from happy with the showing of the £10.8m-valued former Norwich City man (Transfermarkt), and they took to social media platform Twitter to share their thoughts on the 27-year-old.

Let's see what the fans had to say about the display from Redmond below

"So onto the game. For me, even if today wasn’t quite a 6 pointer, it was a definite don’t lose match. Both teams devoid of quality in final third, save for Jiminez. Salisu decent, Tino solid & Moi involved but some shocking performances too. Redmond abject"

"Adams needs balls firing into him on the turn instead of at head height he’s not tall enough or big enough for that kind of service! Redmond wasteful yet again we need a player like Saint-Maximin to absolutely run at defences"

"Patience is running thin with Ralph after today. I don’t see any reason why in 2021 Redmond and Long are playing Premier League football over Tella. Its pathetic."

"I’ve been a fan of his over the years but he’s so off the pace now, it’s Redmond I’m so disappointed in he promises so much but fails so often"

"Yeah JWP is the best dead ball taker we’ve got but when was the last time we actually scored from a corner Redmond is a championship player and Long is way past even that level. Wouldn’t start with Djenpo until he learns an end product but definitely agree with everything else"

"Adam Armstrong Che Adams Long Nathan Redmond Jan Bednarek All them, a waste of space"
