Trevor Sinclair has urged Manchester United left-back Brandon Williams to make a move to Southampton.
Williams should join Saints
The Saints have been linked with a move for the 20-year-old, who has made just three appearances in all competitions so far this campaign – albeit one of them coming in the Champions League. It has been suggested that Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side will only be able to sign him on loan, though.

Talking on talkSPORT, Sinclair appears to believe it would be a great move for the youngster. He said:
“He’s very combative. He likes to get close to the winger. I’ve been impressed with him. (He’s) quick.
“But I was wondering why he would go to Southampton if Ryan Bertrand was still there, because I rate Ryan quite highly. And now I know that (Bertrand is) stalling on his contract, it really does make sense.
“That’d be a great place and a great platform for him to push on from what he’s already achieved at Manchester United.”
Great move long-term
At the moment, it appears as if a loan move is to United’s preference, but with Alex Telles and Luke Shaw ahead of him in the pecking order, it is hard to see where Williams fits in on a regular basis. At St. Mary’s Stadium, though, he is likely to have plenty more opportunities.

Bertrand is the only real left-back option, and he is already 31. Not only that, there have been questions over whether he will sign a new contract with his current deal set to run out at the end of the campaign. With him out injured against Newcastle, centre-back Jack Stephens was moved to the left of the back four.
If Williams were to move to the south coast, therefore, you feel he would have a big role to play.
In other news, Southampton fans slam this man against Wolves.
