Southampton target Nemanja Radonjic has told TuttoMercatoWeb that he will be staying at Marseille this January.
Radonjic to stay in France
The Saints were linked (print version of the Daily Mirror, 3rd December, page 63) with a move for the Serbia international last month, as were fellow Premier League outfit West Ham United.

However, amidst the reported interest in his services, the 24-year-old has revealed that he wants to stay in the south of France until at least the summer. He said:
“I heard of this interest on the internet but I have no intention of leaving Olympique Marseille. I have not had contact with other clubs and I am sure I will stay here. I want to stay at least until the summer and I am happy that the coach has given me more space in the last few races. “
Perhaps for the best
Valued at £4.05m (Transfermarkt), Radonjic certainly has plenty of interesting qualities that Ralph Hasenhuttl could put to good use at St. Mary’s Stadium. Marseille teammate Steve Mandanda has said that the winger has “incredible speed”, and he did find the back of the net five times in 21 Ligue 1 matches last season.

He has also appeared in the Champions League this term, but he has managed just one strike in nine matches in the league. Having cost Marseille £12m back in 2018, and with two years left on his contract, it is unlikely L’OM would be willing to take a loss on his sale. Perhaps this knockback gives the Saints a chance to look elsewhere as they aim to boost their squad.
In other news, Southampton fans laud this former player.
