Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to reports that Gareth Bale and Dele Alli won’t start against West Ham

After weeks of anticipation since Gareth Bale made a stunning return to Tottenham, team news has emerged which sees the superstar set for an appearance on the bench against West Ham this evening.

Bale, who has been raring to go since steadily working on his match fitness, could come on at some point against the Hammers, with plenty of the Spurs faithful eagerly awaiting the club hero’s return. However, despite his impending introduction, many supporters are ‘disappointed‘ that he looks set to start on the bench.

Evening Standard journalist Dan Kilpatrick tweeted that Bale will not be in Jose Mourinho’s starting XI, with the team news now coming to light just under two hours before kick off.

#thfc Understand Bale set to start on the bench vs West Ham. Also not expecting Dele or Dier to be involved, Mourinho saying the latter was a doubt yesterday.

Alasdair Gold predicted earlier today that the 31-year-old wouldn’t start, and he claims the most likely front three will be Heung-min Son, Harry Kane and Steven Bergwijn.

As a result of this team news, with Dele Alli not included in the matchday squad, these supporters have flocked to have their say.

Only on the bench, thats disappointing seeing as we’ve had 2 weeks of hype.
