With Kieran Trippier’s career taking a nosedive, it’s little surprise to hear talk that Spurs would be willing to offload the England star this summer. Though Kyle Walker-Peters has shown promising signs of making the grade, Mauricio Pochettino’s side would understandably be looking for an established first-team star to come in. And if reports are to be believed, that man could well be Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Portugal international has been made available by the Camp Nou side for around £30m, and Spurs are very much interested in his services. The 25-year-old sprint king has often been side-lined by Sergi Roberto for the starting right-back role at Barcelona, and has struggled to establish himself since his move from Benfica.
Having seen Semedo’s abilities first-hand during the Champions League group stages this season, Spurs fans took to social media to throw their backing behind a potential move. With his pace completely blowing the likes of Trippier and Aurier out of the water, the Portuguese man could be the archetypal Pochettino signing; strong, quick and technically sound too.
