t’s been an interesting day for Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern with The Express reporting that Spurs are set to launch a double bid to bring strikers Leandro Damiao and Roberto Soldado to White Hart Lane during the summer.
The paper suggests that talks with long-term target Damiao have been underway for the last few weeks with Spurs ready to offer Internacional £16 million for the Brazilian international. They were close to securing the forward in the January transfer window before the deal collapsed at the last minute however Andre Villas-Boas has wasted no time moving for the London 2012 Olympics golden boot winner again.
Spurs are also thought to be in discussions with Valencia to sign Spanish international Soldado for £20 million and the 27-year-old could be close to joining Damiao at the club this summer. With 22 goals to his name this season he could be the man that Spurs require for the new season.
The joint signing is rather unusual for the often cautious Daniel Levy but the club appears desperate to spend the money required to secure Champions League football next year.
