The Argentine has seen several of England’s Under-20 World Cup winning side return to North London in high spirits and will likely be keen to give them a chance.

Josh Onomah, Harry Winks and Kyle Walker-Peters are just a few within a chance of making the trip to face Paris Saint-Germain, Roma and Manchester City in late July.

Whether the youngsters will impress the boss enough to earn regular game time this season remains to be seen. After all, Tottenham are one of Europe’s best sides, and so foreign players are always keen to move to White Hart Lane.

One continent that plays host to a lot of talent is Africa, and whilst many players have since moved to Europe in search of more competitive football, some have yet to make the step up to a club like Tottenham.

Wilfried Zaha

The Crystal Palace winger signed a five-year contract extension earlier in the year, but a new contract’s never stopped a footballer from leaving.

The winger has been touted with a move to Tottenham on more than one occasion in the past two seasons, with Pochettino apparently looking to bolster his attack with the Ivorian’s flair and unpredictability.

Tottenham would need to break the bank to sign the ex-Manchester United man, but it’s certainly not out of the question.

Jean Michael Seri

The 25-year-old emerged as one of brightest talents in Ligue 1 last season after a remarkable season for Nice.

Seri is a reported target of Tottenham and North London rivals Arsenal, though club president Jean-Pierre Rivere said the central midfielder is going nowhere.

Seri is an Ivory Coast international, having featured 13 times for his country – and he would bring a lot to the Tottenham midfield next season were he to move to London.
