It’s a horrible time to be a Sunderland fan.
The Mackems sit rooted to the bottom of the Premier League and David Moyes’ men look like they will be playing Championship next season.
Our landlord agrees with this view and he believes that Sunderland only have themselves to blame having diced with relegation time and time again for the last couple seasons.
He says it was only a matter of time before the Tyne-Wear club got relegated and they are finally getting their comeuppance.
This statement has really angered our resident Sunderland fans and although they are also consigned to their side playing Championship football next season, they believe the harsh criticism is not justified.
Instead of criticising their club, the resident Mackems in the Tavern want solutions and have looked to potential signings their club must make in order to return to top flight football as soon as possible.
Our landlord has weighed in on this debate and he has been looking at potential signings that David Moyes may look in to scouting in order to bring to the Stadium of Light.
The list has caused waves in the Tavern and really captured the Sunderland fans’ imagination.
With that said, here are the TWO players that Sunderland must send scouts too watch…
Federico Santander
With Jermaine Defoe surely on his way out if Sunderland go down, our landlord is suggesting David Moyes should get his scouts out to see FC Copenhagen’s Satander in order to replace the England international.
The Paraguayan has 15 goals in all competitions for the Danish side and Sunderland fans in the Tavern will welcome another goalscorer to their club.
Lukasz Teodorczyk

Another striker that our landlord believes that Moyes should keep his eyes on, could Teodorczyk be the man to come in if Defoe is to leave the Stadium of Light.
The Polish international has a sensational league record of 20 goals in 28 games for Anderlecht and as he is on loan there from Dynamo Kiev, he could be an easy target for David Moyes’ men.
