Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is looking to offload second choice defender Anton Ferdinand to Tottenham Hotspur in a deal that could see Alan Hutton travelling the other way, according to The Sun. Both players are said to be unhappy with their current clubs and are looking for moves elsewhere to reignite their careers.
Ferdinand, 24, signed for the Black Cats back in the summer of 2008 for a fee in the region of £8 million yet has recently become second choice at the Stadium of Light to new signings Michael Turner, John Mensah and Paulo Da Silva. Harry Redknapp is believed to be looking at bolstering the centre of his defence in the January due to the injury problems of Jonathan Woodgate and Ledley King and is said to have highlighted the former West Ham defender as an option.
Full back Alan Hutton has struggled to break into the first team at White Hart Lane since his £9 million move for Scottish club Rangers and has recently been playing second fiddle to Vedran Corluka. Hutton is believed to be keen on a move to Wearside and it is likely that the Scot will pose a great threat to George McCartney, Phil Bardsley and Kieran Richardson, the current Sunderland full backs.
It is believed that the managers will begin talks over at the start of the transfer window with both clubs keen on a deal.

It’s definately better for Sunderland than it is Spurs. I suppose Ferdinand isn’t bad back up
the advatage is hutton is utter crap and we get a back up defender which we need….thats the advatage…..plus we already have a back up at right back so let the wineo be there problem…..
