Our Sunderland fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking for good news in this January window and it could come in the arrival of Tyrone Mings – according to The Telegraph.
The young defender has had many think that he’s going to be a bright player in the future but he’s been plagued by injuries with his current club Bournemouth and could now fancy a move to try and kick-start his career.
Speaking of needing a kick-start, Sunderland need to get going sharpish this season if they are to avoid the drop for another year.
David Moyes’ men showed all the attributes needed to stay up as they drew 2-2 with Liverpool last time out but they also have results like the 4-1 loss to Burnley before that in them so things are far from certain right now.
Defensive reinforcements should be on their shopping list, then, according to our landlord and Mings could be the ideal player to help out with him surely hungry for game time.
The Telegraph suggests Hull City and Ipswich could also be interested, though, so we may be set for a bidding war.
Would you take Mings, Sunderland fans? Let us know below!
