It’s been a dull and dismal season for Sunderland fans here in The Transfer Tavern.

Inconsistent performances and disappointing displays from certain players have had fans crying out for David Moyes to bring in some new faces.

Along with Hull City, Sunderland are the lowest scoring team in the Premier League this season. Netting twenty goals in twenty-two games, the Black Cats aren’t even averaging a goal a game.

Considering they are sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table, something has to change urgently for Sunderland to revive their season and avoid facing the drop.

So where is it all falling apart for Sunderland? It’s simple really, their attacking midfielders. With Jermain Defoe doing all the work by himself up top, it has proven that the likes of Adnan Januzaj and Didier Ndong are just not good enough if Sunderland want to kick off their winning ways.

Taking this into account, here’s a look at two attack minded players that Moyes should bring in to save Sunderland’s season, according to our landlord…

Jefferson Montero

What Sunderland are lacking is that bit of flair, pace and creativity down the flanks.

Swansea’s Montero fits into all three of these categories. The conventional short, nippy winger has not seen regular action this season due to frequent injuries, however he is set to return at the end of this month.

The Ecuadorian would fit right into Sunderland’s starting eleven. It would undoubtedly be a breath of fresh air to Black Cats fans here in the Tavern to see a player with proven Premier League experience grace the Stadium of Light.

Leonardo Ulloa

Speaking of players with Premier League experience, an ideal target-man for Sunderland to snap up would be Leicester’s Leonardo Ulloa.

The Argentian’s agent has recently displayed his distress at manager Claude Ranieri, labelling him as a ‘selfish egotist’ – as quoted by The Sun.

Ulloa soared in the 2014-15 season for The Foxes, but has failed to get a starting spot in Leicester’s XI for the last two years running. Jermain Defoe needs a partner up front, well here he is, make it happen Moyes!
