Surely Conte needs to drop Pedro for 1 of these 2 Chelsea stars today – Agreed?

Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Antonio Conte has got some answers in today match against Crystal Palace, as they want the poor form to stop amid the battle for a spot in the Champions League places.

Chelsea, this year have been poor, since January they have slid out of the top-four, out of the Carabao Cup and raised some questions among the regulars as to if Conte if the still the right man for the job. While the Italian’s future hangs in the balance, the team are doing nothing to help matters, making it a whole mess right now.

Following two back-to-back defeats against both Manchester clubs, surely today Conte will aim to get the fire back in the Chelsea players’ belly with a win. Conte needs a big performance from his players today, and a shake-up of the team that showed no fight or courage against City will surely be at the top of his mind.

With that in mind, our landlord takes a look at what TWO players should come into the side at Pedro’s expense…

Cesc Fabregas

The Spaniard is essential in making Chelsea tick when he’s at his best. His eye for a pass and general coolness on the pitch is what the Blues need right now in a time of trouble. Fabregas has been here before and knows that, as he is one of the more experienced players in the squad, its part of his job to get this team going again.

Being his creative and acute self should give Chelsea a different edge against a tough Palace side who will be hard to break down.

Alvaro Morata

Having missed out on starting against City, with Conte preferring to go with a false nine formation, Alvaro Morata will be desperate to get amongst the goals once again. Indeed, especially with the arrival of Olivier Giroud who is breathing down his neck for a starting spot and a World Cup just a few months away.

The forward has struggled for goals so far this year and a lucky strike or a pot-shot that will go in could be the turning point in his season.
