Surely it’s time Mauricio Pochettino axed these 2 Tottenham regulars today – Agreed?

Our Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a good result to put them back on track after a couple of draws recently.

In the past few weeks, Spurs have drawn three out of the last five games in all competitions 2-2, owing to some great comebacks alongside serious lacks in concentration. With Chelsea in touching distance of them now, Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that Man United can do them a favour and defeat Chelsea so they can hop into the top-four.

Our regulars have seen the good and bad of Spurs in recent games and many of them are hoping, the collapsible side doesn’t appear again against a revitalised Crystal Palace.

If Pochettino wants to take advantage of any slip-up Chelsea have this weekend, then a couple of players need to be dropped. With that in mind, our landlord takes a look at two players that should warm the bench this weekend…

Ben Davies

The left-back has played well overall this season so far, but with the return of Danny Rose to the side, Pochettino may opt for the pace of Rose.

Many in the bar believed that Rose’s days were numbered in the summer after an explosive interview rattled a few cages, however, since then Rose has returned from his injury and look to take root in the position. Especially with it being a World Cup year, Rose will look to impress in the remaining few months of the season.

Dele Alli

The England midfielder has not had his best season so far and his reputation for diving is overshadowing his natural talent recently. With the winter signing of Lucas Moura, Pochettino has finally added some pace and directness to the team, and many of the regulars feel that Moura should get the nod over Alli, whilst bringing Christian Eriksen into the middle as is form continues to rise.

Alli will have to work harder than ever at present to cement his spot in the team going forward.
