The Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping to take another step closer to securing a Champions League spot today.
Tottenham’s upturn in form has seen them move above Chelsea in the Premier League into the much coveted Champions League spots. Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to pick up the win today against newly promoted Huddersfield, in a bid to keep this recent run going.
Spurs scraped a win against the recently rejuvenated Crystal Palace with the reliable Harry Kane on the score sheet, and if Pochettino wants to be back in among the big boys again next season our regulars know that he is key to achieving that.
However, not everything is rosy with Spurs at the moment with them drawing a spate of games recently and concentration levels failing at crucial points in the game. With that in mind, our landlord takes a look at what TWO players the Argentine should drop today to ensure the win…
Serge Aurier

The right-back didn’t have his best game so far on Sunday, a performance that included a ridiculous three foul throws and most likely will make way for Kieran Trippier. The Ivorian is a new arrival to the Premier League and mostly still finding his feet in London.
Some of the regulars feel that he will come could, and the glimpses he’s shown this season suggest he can be a quality player for the future.
Erik Lamela

Erik Lamela was another that didn’t overly impress our watching crowd in the bar as his return to full match sharpness seems to be taking longer than expected. With Lucas Moura sniffing around for a starting spot, Lamela really needs to up his game, that’s for sure.
However, the Brazilian’s pace and dribbling ability should be a huge factor against Huddersfield Town, who seems to be a tough team to break down recently.
