Steven Gerrard will be looking to get his Rangers side to compete with Celtic and stop the Hoops from securing an 8th Scottish Premiership title in a row.
With Celtic looking so dominant, securing consecutive trebles, Liverpool legend Gerrard has a real job on his hands. He will need a lot of backing in the transfer market if he is to get anywhere close to the cross-city rivals.
Whilst he was a Premier League great, he is still a relatively untested manager, and there will likely be plenty of scrutiny on Gerrard in his opening games in the SPL.
Gerrard has signed a duo from Brighton & Hove Albion in Conor Goldson and Jamie Murphy. He has also brought Jon Flanagan to Ibrox from Liverpool. He has looked to Premier League clubs to improve his Rangers side as they look to improve on two quite frankly awful years in the transfer market.
