Chelsea fans here in the Tavern are hoping their side can secure an all-important Champions League place, with the race for a top-four spot beginning to heat up. 

The Blues have managed to turn their back on the controversy surrounding Antonio Conte over the past week or so with some impressive results as they look to move away from the potential crisis that threatened to ruin their campaign in a manner akin to THAT Jose Mourinho season. Indeed, transfer window business at Stamford Bridge has very much been conducted under the surveillance of Roman Abramovich, with Conte allowed a minimal amount of input into the potential signings. And, it appears that the club are already looking to bring in some fresh faces in the summer, as Christian Pulisic is a target for the Blues.

Although, with Chelsea rather overloaded in midfield areas, there’s going to need to be a considerable amount of clearing out to be done by the club, as many players are beginning to play for their future in the English capital.

Therefore, these TWO players are going to need to leave if Christian Pulisic is to join the Blues in the summer…

Pedro

The Spaniard has been a valuable member of Chelsea’s first team over the past couple of seasons, with contributions at key moments for the Blues.

However, he’s becoming less effective in the Chelsea ranks in comparison to the likes of Willian and Eden Hazard, which has caused for the 30-year-old to make a considerable amount of bench appearances this season.

And, with one of the most exciting attackers in the whole of world football possibly coming to Stamford Bridge in the summer, Pedro will be lucky to live the rest of his career out with the Blues as the American will inevitably take his place.

Charly Musonda

The 21-year-old has been heavily out of favour at Stamford Bridge for some time now, with a loan move to Celtic for the remainder of the season seen as the only option for regular minutes. Although, it isn’t for the lack of trying from the Belgian, as Antonio Conte just doesn’t seek fit to include youth in regular first team fixtures for the Blues.

Indeed, operating in an almost identical position to that of Pulisic’s, it’s unlikely that our local residents will get to see the promising youngster back in their ranks for next season. Especially as patience is beginning to wear thin for Charly Musonda and his Chelsea career, after already causing a pandemonium about his lack of opportunity at the club.
