Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are starting to get excited over the latest link with one of the most dangerous hitmen in Europe.
Robert Lewandowski’s time at Bayern Munich may be coming to an end, as the Polish striker starts to edge towards 30 and our barman thinks that he will be looking at a new challenge in possibly the Premier League. Having two goal-laden spells in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund and Munich, the striker has scored over 170 times while at the two clubs but his eight-year association in Germany may be finished.
Chelsea needs a prolific goalscorer, with Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud not up to that level and Alvaro Morata still finding his feet. The Polish superstars has proved he can do it for club, country and in Europe for many a season and would be a truly wonderful addition to the Stamford Bridge ranks.
If Lewandowski was to join the Blues, then some of our regulars feel that this will make a couple of players move on, and here’s the TWO they feel will leave ASAP…
Michy Batshuayi

The Belgian international is currently on loan at Lewandowski’s former club Borussia Dortmund, and the reasoning for that is simple; he doesn’t feature in Conte’s plans. He rarely got a game at Stamford Bridge and many felt he struggles to adapt to London life.
However, he seems at home in Germany and re-finding the form that originally led him to earn a move to Chelsea in the first place.
Alvaro Morata

The Spaniard would have his nose put out of joint if Lewandowski was to join him at Stamford Bridge. With the formation style, there would be only room for one striker, and many in the bar can’t see Chelsea splashing whatever cash to bring in one of the most prolific strikers in the business and make him play second fiddle to Morata.
It would be a luxury to have two strikers of that quality at the club, but realistically there will be not enough room for both of them.
