Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a major re-jig of the squad, and a massive improvement on recent transfer window dealings.
Antonio Conte has had a rocky season so far at Stamford Bridge, after a poor start, they seemed to gather a little momentum. However, this year has been abysmal, to say the least, amid doubts about Conte’s long-term future.
Indeed our fans in the bar are happy that the Blues managed to get three new signings through the door in January, but they still feel a major mix up is needed in the summer. Chelsea, if they were to continue on their current trajectory will be playing Europa League football next year.
Conte, after all, may not even be here for the start of the next campaign and, once again, the club appear to be at somewhat of a crossroads right now. All this has got many of the regulars thinking who could potentially leave this summer as those behind the scenes look to build for a new era.
Our landlord takes a closer look at TWO players within the Chelsea ranks that may be moved on…
Thibaut Courtois

The Belgian shot-stopper is being touted with a move to Real Madrid this summer, as his family still lives there from his few years at Atletico Madrid on loan. Courtois hasn’t had a great season in comparison to others in the past, and the need to move on may be solidified by his family.
If Conte leaves, there will be a few players leaving too, in a huge shake-up at the Bridge and the Belgian may be the first to go.
Tiemoue Bakayoko

Former Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko hasn’t fully settled into life in the Premier League as of yet. With many of the fans in the back room playing pool becoming very frustrated with the Frenchman amidst a fair few below-par displays, it seems his stay in west London has been an unhappy one.
A move back to Ligue 1 may be on the cards in a bid to re-find his form and confidence that led him to the move to Chelsea in the first place.
