The Chelsea fans inside the Transfer Tavern this week are hoping that Chelsea can keep battling in their quest to try and regain a Champions League spot in the final few months of the season.

Chelsea have slipped out of the top-four in recent weeks, and their fans in the bar are not best pleased about the situation, although getting to the final of the FA Cup may salvage some of the season.

Antonio Conte has not been shy in handing some of the youth academy players a chance to impress this season and according to our main barman, this should be the blueprint going forward if the Blues are wanting to take advantage of the plethora of talent they have within their ranks.

Conte will be looking to gain all any advantage as they seek to climb up the table, and playing young players without fear maybe a trump card for what is going to be a tight run going into the final hurdles of the season.

Trevoh Chalobah

The younger brother and potentially a better player of Watford’s Nathaniel, Chalobah has a lot of qualities to make it at the top level. He can play as either a centre-back or a centre midfielder, however, it seems that defence is where he feels at home with probably his best performances.

Standing at 6’2 he is tall, good on the ball and very quick, all useful traits of course. Chalobah looks like a very good prospect for the future and could be a useful asset for Conte in the final part of the season.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Of all the players in the academy at the moment, attacking midfielder Hudson-Odoi is certainly creating the most amount of hype and it is easy to see why with his 14 goals in 23 matches for the Chelsea u23’s. The U17s World Cup winner was excellent in the competition and his running directly at defenders ability alongside his great amount of skill and range of passing could see him as a Chelsea first team regular very soon.

Hudson-Odoi was named on the bench for the Champions League match against Barcelona which could be a sign of things to come.
