Liverpool supporters in the Transfer Tavern are anticipating further reinforcements at Anfield this summer as Klopp looks to retain the club’s Champions League status.

Having secured deals for Dominic Solanke and Mohamed Salah, the Reds are poised to continue their expenditure on new arrivals as Klopp looks to assemble a competitive squad. The German manager was lauded for securing the return of European football to Anfield this forthcoming season. Now, he shoulders the responsibility of certifying that his side can mount a respectable campaign in the most treasured club competition in world football.

While this ambition does necessitate the arrival of new signings, the reality of Liverpool’s situation is that many will also be departing the club this summer. Over the duration of previous weeks, many players have been linked with moves away from the Merseyside club. Our landlord has decided to assess two players who will surely be absent of Klopp’s first match day squad.

Alberto Moreno

The 25-year-old looks destined to depart the Reds this summer. Moreno’s transfer to Liverpool has been a bitter disappointment. Following the exciting performances he produced at Sevilla; he was primed to set the Premier League alight. Nonetheless, this expectation failed to come to fruition, now Klopp is likely keen to discard the full-back.

The Spaniard only made two starts in the Premier League last season, in addition to 10 substitute appearances. He must leave Anfield at the earliest opportunity to try and revive his career.

Mamadou Sakho

Unlike Moreno, Sakho has made a significant impression during his time as a Liverpool player, but a row with manager Jurgen Klopp has seemingly ended his career as a Red. Having failed to adhere to club rules at the start of last season, he was sidelined to the reserve team – officially demoted from first-team duties.  In the January window, Crystal Palace gave the 27-year-old a lifeline, an offer that he graciously accepted.

Despite making only eight starts for Palace, Sakho made a purposeful impact at the South London club, and it appears that this could become his permanent team.  It seems that his toxic relationship with manager Jurgen Klopp is unrevivable, and it would be unsurprising if the Frenchman joined Palace on a permanent basis this summer.
