Surely these 2 Tottenham stars will leave if Abdoulaye Doucoure joins in the summer

Our Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping that they can sneak into a Champions League spot by the end of the season, and build on it for next year at the new stadium.

Spurs currently sit just outside the top-four trailing Chelsea by their coat-tails, after Mauricio Pochettino finally brought in a January transfer this year, the Spurs fans in the tap room will be hoping for more of the same come summer.

One of the names linked already is Abdoulaye Doucoure. Indeed, the Watford midfielder has had a good season so far in the Premier League, helping himself to seven goals. Another midfield option would be good for Spurs who as many have noticed in the pub, once you get past the starting eleven the quality seems to drop. It’s one of the reasons Pochettino keeps the same 11 for most of the season barring injuries and suspensions, so strength in depth would be helpful.

With the potential incoming, there must be outgoings and our landlord takes a look at TWO possible midfielders to leave…

Mousa Dembele

The former Fulham man could be the one to give way, despite his heroics for the club over the years. Indeed, at the age of 30 in this young and vibrant team, he may be replaced with a younger model. Dembele has been one of the top players for Spurs over the years since his move in 2012, but with the plethora of young talented options in that area of the pitch, he may seek a move in order to keep is international career going.

Luke Amos

Luke Amos has never featured for the first-team having been loaned out several times to lower league clubs. Amos, at the age of 20, may be too far gone to make an impression on the Argentine and seeking first-team minutes may be more of a motivation.

Our regulars feel it is always a shame for young lads to move on, but Amos must either feature in Pochettino’s long-term plans or leave to further his career.
