Swansea eyeing 22-year-old attacker in bid to preserve PL status

Our Swansea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking for any little crumb of comfort this season and they may be about to receive it in the form of Aleksandar Mitrovic according to The Express.

The report is suggesting that the young striker could be available in January from Newcastle United with him currently restricted to a substitute’s role thanks to Dwight Gayle.

It’s understandable, of course, with Gayle in incredible form this season as the Magpies look to bounce back into the Premier League and so, apparently, a £15 million move is being weighed up by the Swans for the Serbian.

Things just have not worked at all for the Welsh club this season under either Francesco Guidolin or current man Bob Bradley and so they’ll be hoping dearly the potential move could mark an upturn in fortune.

They desperately need something to work or our landlord fears they could be heading to the Championship and with a pretty significant price tag being talked about, they can’t afford it to back-fire.

Tense times for the Swans, then, who host West Ham next in a huge game on Boxing Day.

Would Mitrovic be the answer, Swans fans? Let us know below!
