Sheffield Wednesday: Fans react to transfer update on Jacob Murphy

Sheffield Wednesday appear to have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Jacob Murphy and a lot of Owls fans have been reacting to an update on the winger.

According to journalist Alex Miller, it is now looking very unlikely that the 25 year-old will be at Hillsborough next season as he wants to fight for his place at Premier League side Newcastle United, who are undecided on whether they want to let him depart.

Murphy was with the Owls on loan last season and he played 39 times for them in the Championship, scoring nine goals and supplying six assists, per Transfermarkt.

It is no surprise to see Garry Monk being interested in bringing Murphy back to Hillsborough as the winger was the second top scorer at the club last season. However, they might have to look at other targets if he is determined to stay in the Premier League – a setback for Sheffield Wednesday, who clearly enjoyed the impact he made in the Championship last season.
