On loan left back Taye Taiwo has insisted he is happy with life in London and has stated his intention to stay in the capital if he moves away from AC Milan permanently.
Taiwo joined QPR on loan during the January transfer window after falling down the pecking order at the San Siro. He has relished the opportunity to play more regularly at Loftus Road and has stated his desire to stay in England next season.
QPR would surely be favourites for his signature if they survive the threat of relegation this season but Tottenham have been linked with the Nigeria international.
With Assou-Ekotto the only recognised left back in the Tottenham squad Harry Redknapp may well be looking to strengthen this area in the summer.
Taiwo told Sky Sports:
“I am liking life in London to be honest and I am playing week in, week out here and love that”.
“Being linked with Tottenham? If it is true it is fine, I have been linked with them before”.
“I belong to Milan so if a club is interested they know what to do”.
It seems Taiwo is open to any move within the English capital but after falling behind Armand Traore at QPR in recent matches he’ll have to improve his performances if he is to have teams fighting for his signature.
I think QPR would provide a better chance of first team action for Taiwo provided they stay in the Premier League because I’m sure he will not want to go from the San Siro to the NPower Championship.
If Tottenham are serious about building each season and want to mount a realistic title challenge next season then I think they should be looking at a higher standard of player and quite frankly I believe a centre back and centre forward should be higher on their wishlist for next season.
