All of us here at the Transfer Tavern have been impressed with Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino.
Having secured second place and their highest ever Premier League points total, they have proved themselves to be one of the most exciting teams in the league and are looking forward to a very bright future.
One of the main criticisms Spurs have faced this past year in their lack of squad depth.
With too many of the signings over the last few transfer windows having either failed to live up to their price tags (looking at you Moussa Sissoko) or lacking that star quality (Georges-Kevin Nkoudou) – they’ll need a successful transfer window to give the fans hope that silverware is on it’s way.
With Spurs on their way to Wembley for this coming season and into a new home in 2018, Daniel Levy will need to invest wisely over the summer without breaking the bank to enable Tottenham to push on for the title.
The Spurs fans in the Tavern have been coming up with plenty of names that could be on their way, but here are the TWO that will seriously enhance the Tottenham squad….
Ross Barkley
Ross Barkley’s future has been a matter of discussion for quite some time now.
There’s no doubt that Barkley has talent, there are plenty of teams showing an interest in the young England man but surely there is no better mentor for him than Pochettino.
The talk in the Tavern is that with Pochettino’s talent in getting the best out of his young players, Barkley’s best bet is to head south where he will get to mix it with the likes of Kane and Alli.
Barkley’s drive and ball carrying abilities could prove the difference in Tottenham’s attack, and help them to turn their too many drawn games into 3 points.
Douglas Costa

If the Spurs chairman can pull this one off then it will be a real statement of intent.
Having fallen out of favour at Bayern Munich, Douglas Costa will be wanting to leave for first team football at a Champions League club.
He is a young, dynamic wide forward player who has experience at the highest level.
If he does leave Munich then there will be plenty of teams interested in his services, but not too many who can offer him the opportunity Spurs can.
Under Pochettino’s tutelage, Douglas Costa could take the Premier League by storm and that is something all of the Spurs fans here want to see.
