Despite the appointment of Jurgen Klopp at the helm of Liverpool, the Reds have struggled to maintain anything close to a consistent run of form and currently find themselves down in 9th place in the Premier League table.
With the recent rise of the issue of ticket prices at Anfield, our resident Liverpool fans have been simply branded as customers and they have been complaining to our landlord about the poor quality of their squad despite the extortionate amount of money it costs to watch their side.
Whilst many of the Liverpool players are simply not good enough, some are vastly overrated by the Anfield crowd. In this article, we will be outlining some of the most overrated players within Liverpool’s ranks.

Martin Skrtel
Slovakian centre-back Martin Skrtel is Liverpool’s longest serving defender in the current crop of players, but his recent form has been poor, getting caught out far more than he would like.
Liverpool have struggled with conceding poor goals and the 31-year old seemingly does not have the leadership qualities to organise the defence around him.
Liverpool fans seemingly overrated his goal threat from set pieces and forget that his defensive abilities leave a lot to be desired.
Alberto Moreno
Another of Liverpool’s overrated defenders is left-back Alberto Moreno. The 23-year old is offensively sound, but he is very weak in terms of defending his goal and has been directly responsible for several goals conceded by Liverpool this season.
The Spaniard has time on his side to improve his defensive ability, but his attacking utility often earns him too much praise.
Adam Lallana
Adam Lallana was signed from Southampton for a staggering £25 million back in 2014, yet he has not really lived up to the price-tag.
Liverpool fans in the Tavern have been praising his recent performances and want to see him on the plane to France for the Euros this year, yet he has only managed 2 goals and 4 assists from 21 league appearances this term.
Compared to other potential members of the England midfield, Lallana is certainly lacking.
Philippe Coutinho
Brazilian Philippe Coutinho is no doubt a talented player, but the extent to which Liverpool fans try to claim that he is a world class player and would get into any Premier League team has caused some raised voices amongst rival supporters.
The 23-year old has managed 5 goals and 3 assists in all competitions this season, hardly close to the impressive feats of similar attacking Premier League players like Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne.
Whilst there’s no doubt he can be a top-class player and one of the best in the world, he’s far from the finished article.
Jordon Ibe
Apparently lined up to be the replacement to Raheem Sterling who was sold in the summer, the 20-year old Jordon Ibe is yet to demonstrate the confidence and ability that Sterling demonstrated at his age.
Ibe has only managed 8 starts and 12 substitute appearances in the league this season, claiming just 1 assist, and the Englishman will have to do a lot more to impress our landlord and to live up to the hype of our resident Liverpool fans.
