Celtic sit top of the table and after a slow start to the season look back on track to win their 10th successive title.

A lot of conjecture surrounded Celtic over the summer as there was heavy speculation over Brendan Rodgers and Dedryck Boyata's futures but after their poor start, the champions look back on track.

Ever since losing to Kilmarnock, Celtic have put together a seven-game unbeaten streak and currently sit two points ahead of Rangers in second.

As we approach January, however, Rodgers will need to reinvest into the squad and according to talkSPORT, the club are interested in making a move for Newcastle goalkeeper, Freddie Woodman.

The Breakdown

Woodman has only made one appearance for Newcastle but since then, the third-choice 'keeper has featured in just one matchday squad this season.

The English goalkeeper was superb during the England under-20's World Cup-winning campaign and has spent loan spells with Hartlepool, Crawley Town, Kilmarnock and Aberdeen.

At 21, he needs to be playing first-team football and such were his impressive performances for the England under-20 side, he needs to look for a move away.

His current deal runs out in 2020 and with that in mind, Celtic may well have some strong leverage in taking him away from the club.

With Craig Gordon now 35, Celtic need a young goalkeeper to step into the side and Rodgers would be wise to push for a move for the young goalkeeper who could turn into a star.
