West Ham fans here in the Tavern will be happy once the season is over and they have guaranteed their Premier League status for another year following a disappointing campaign which saw them flirting with relegation rather than challenging for European football, as was expected at the London Stadium.

When Slaven Bilic was sacked in November, West Ham fans were left scratching their heads at who would be the man to turn their season around. David Moyes was the man placed in the increasingly uncomfortable hotseat by David Gold and David Sullivan and has all but guaranteed the Hammers safety with one win from their final five games surely being enough to secure their top-flight status.

However, it hasn’t been all plain sailing for the former Manchester United and Sunderland manager with many criticising his negative tactics throughout the season despite the improved results in London. With news circulating that Moyes will be kept on beyond the end of the season, the fans of the East London club will be keen for the board to examine other options.

With that being said here’s a look at two other managers West Ham should look at to fulfil their European aspirations…..

Unai Emery

The former Sevilla coach made the transition to one of Europe’s elite club when he moved to PSG in the summer of June 2016 signing a two-year-deal. Prior to his move at the Parc des Princes, he was an integral part of the Sevilla spine that saw them lift three consecutive Europa League trophies their final one coming against Liverpool.

West Ham have contacted the Spaniard before in 2015 but he turned them down in favour to stay with the La Liga outfit and since then has tasted success with the Parisian side. Despite winning the cup treble in his first season in charge he was pipped to the league title by Monaco. His latest season has seen his side win the league and cup double already and with one more final to come it looks as if a quadruple is on the cards.

However, another disappointing season in the Champions League has reportedly led to emery being pushed towards the exit door in Paris. West Ham would be able to approach Emery without having to pay compensation and with his European and domestic pedigree it would seem a sensational move

Peter Bosz

A manager that made his name in the Eredivisie, Peter Bosz was the manager of the youthful Ajax side that shone their way to the final of the Europa League in 2017 before eventually losing out to Manchester United. After his success with Ajax, Bosz was handed his chance with a struggling Borussia Dortmund side after Thomas Tuchel left but only lasted until December before being sacked due to dropping out of the Champions League.

Despite this black mark on Bosz’s CV his ability to nurture the talents of Justin Kluivert and Davinson Sanchez show he is one of the best at bringing through players through the academy something West Ham pride themselves on. He has also had experiences of consistently getting teams to qualify for Europe, something the Hammers hierarchy are craving.

Could Bosz be the man to supply that to the East London faithful?
