Well another fantastic night for RDM and the so called Chelsea pensioners!
Another fantastic night to be a Chelsea fan and despite the last 30mins a dominate display from a tiring team who have given their blood, sweat and tears in the last month.
A true vindication of hard work and commitment.
Cech = 9 – Didn’t have alot to do as Liverpool rarely threatened in the opening 60mins. Proved himself to be a world class goalkeeper with arguably the save of the season to give us the cup!
Bosingwa = 5 – Continues to look out of place and struggle at RB. A real concern for Munich.
Ivanovic = 7 – Rarely troubled until Carrol’s introduction. Ever Mr.Reliable.
Terry = 7 – Ensured Suarez was a passenger. Turned to easy for Carroll’s goal.
Cole = 7 – Back to his best in recent weeks. Looked tired at times.
Mikel = 7 – Our most improved player in recent weeks. Good midfield play for Drogba’s goal.
Lampard = 8 – Ever present, legend, proud. Great ball for Drogba’s goal.
Mata = 7 – Showing signs of fatigue but still an ever present danger. Set-up Ramires for opener.
Ramires = 8 – Never tires. Never gives up. Samba flair. Brilliant opening goal.
Drogba = 8 – His love affair with Wembley continues. Made history. Tired towards the end but scored a fantastic goal.
Kalou = 7 – Striving in life under RDM. Looked a threat but still could improve.
Subs:
Meireles = 6 – Done a job.
Malouda = 6 – Done a job.
Reina = 5 – Disappointed to be beaten at near post. Doesn’t look at his best this season.
Johnson = 6 – Good attacking threat in 2nd half. Still questions over defending.
Skrtel = 7 – Did well against Drogba. Could have closed down quicker for Drogba goal.
Agger = 6 – Showed his defensive frailities.
Enrique = 6 – Made a mistak for Ramires goal. Never looked comfortable.
Spearing = 5 – Gave the ball away for Chelsea’s opener. Not ready for such big occasions.
Henderson = 5 – Doesn’t seem to be improving. £20m suddenly looks alot of money.
Gerrard = 7 – Done his captain’s job as always. Tried to make Liverpool play but never played close enough to Suarez.
Bellamy = 5 – Rarely showed any threat.
Suarez = 5 – One of the poorest games I’ve seen him play.
Downing = 6 – Put in alot of crosses but didn’t have much to aim for. Still not showing his worth.
Subs:
Carroll = 8 – Determined. Finally made Liverpool look a threat. Good goal. Maybe Liverpool need to play direct football to get the best out of him.
Kuyt = 6 – Not given enough time to impact the match.
