West Ham’s season has really started to gain momentum in terms of league form and now they must act and fast to bring in the right players to help them climb even more in the Premier League table. We here at the Transfer Tavern have seen a number of players linked to the Hammers and we feel changes are needed for ‘Super Slavs Army’…

With the unrest surrounding Dimitri Payet, its very likely that come February 1st he will not be a West Ham player.

It’s not all bad news with regards to the West Ham fans in the Tavern, though, with a number of players also linked with a move to the London Stadium.

Slaven Bilic struggled to find adequate players over the summer, but this month things could all change – and with West Ham vying for a top half finish this season, a few big money signings will be required.

With that said, is this the potential West Ham XI come February 1st if transfer rumours are to be believed?

GK: DARREN RANDOLPH

Darren Randolph has done well this season, and will continue as West Ham’s number 1 for the rest of the season.

He has been vital this year.

RWB: MICHAIL ANTONIO

Although right-back is a position that needs to be improved, it’s likely with the targets they have in mind that West Ham will revert to their 3-5-2 formation and opt to put Michail Antonio at wing-back.

He can allow himself to push on up the field and get in amongst the attacking play. The versatile player has been superb wherever he’s been asked to play this season.

CB: CHEKIOU KOUYATE

Although he is at the AFCON he will for sure be straight back in the fold after the tournament finishes.

The Senegalese midfielder come defender has been superb for West Ham this season alongside Reid and Ogbonna and they could form quite the trio in this stage of the season.

With Ogbonna and Reid’s defensive abilities it will allow Kouyate to push forward more when required, without leaving the defence exposed!

CB: WINSTON REID

The best defender that West Ham have had this season so far, the New Zealand international has pride when he’s on the pitch and loves the team he plays for and always gives it his all.

He will be vital in the second half of the season as the Hammers look to progress.

CB: JOSE FONTE

Having been signed earlier this month, Jose Fonte will likely come straight into the team.

Some much-needed experience in this back line.

LWB: AARON CRESSWELL

The left side of the West Ham defence is very strong with Cresswell as their first choice – so it is not a position that they’ll be looking to improve anytime soon.

He has been solid this year.

CDM: PEDRO OBIANG

The Spanish midfielder has been a revelation in the centre of the West Ham midfield and has won over many fans.

Although this may mean Noble taking a step back some punters feel he can make more of an impact from the bench.

LW: MANUEL LANZINI

The attacking player who can play anywhere across the attack will have to try help fill the void soon to be left by Dimitri Payet and being 6 years younger than him, he will have a bit of time in his favour.

The Argentine is a superb player and can be a real game changer for the Hammers when fit and on the pitch.

CF: SCOTT HOGAN

The Brentford striker has been subject to two rejected bids from the Irons and its been reported by the Daily Mail that they’ve finally made a breakthrough in their attempts to bring him to the club.

The top goalscorer in the Championship for the calendar year 2016 could be a great addition to the attacking line at West Ham and help bring goals they’ve been lacking!

RW: ROBERT SNODGRASS

The former Leeds and Norwich winger looks set for a switch to West Ham.

He has been impressive this season, and would fit in perfectly at the London Stadium.

The Hammers will need to fend off Burnley, but Bilic looks likely to have won the race.

ST: ANDY CARROLL

If he can keep fit, Carroll will be a key player for the Hammers in what remains of the season.

The 28-year-old scored a belter against Palace and the punters here in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping he can use the momentum from that to keep it up and help the Irons climb the table.

He and Hogan could be a force that makes defences terrified to face West Ham.
