Much has been made around Arsene Wenger’s future in recent years and the pressure for the long-serving manager to leave is mounting by the game at present. Many of the arguments in the bar between the Gunner fans is over exactly how Arsenal need to get with the times and bring in a fresh look into the squad, in terms of players and a manager.

Things have become stagnant for many years now, and with a new regime may come the successful years the Gunners enjoyed in and around the start of the 2000’s.

Our landlord identifies TWO players that surely must go and follow Wenger out of the door this summer. They’re both not up to scratch and need to move on for the sake of their own careers for both club and country. With that in mind, here’s a closer look at them.

Danny Welbeck

Danny Welbeck came to Arsenal with a fresh outlook and a new start to his footballing career after stalling at Manchester United despite a good start. However, over the years through bad form and injuries, the England man has lost his way in the Big Smoke.

Indeed, he seems a shadow of his former self and a move away to a lesser club may be a smart move. If Welbeck wants to get back to his best and re-discover his form, the Emirates is not the place to do this – especially in light of recent signings in the January window.

David Ospina

Arsenal need two new ‘keepers, though Petr Cech’s age is catching up with him and it’s starting to show, while his back up David Ospina is a few levels short of what the club need. The Gunners should start to build from the back in the summer, and a revamp of the keeper and backline os in much need of attention.

There are plenty of problems in the team that could have made this list that landlord could mention, but the smart money is on building from the back.
