Our resident Liverpool fans are hoping that the club concludes deals for key targets to accompany the signings of Mohammed Salah from Roma and Dominic Solanke from Chelsea. Following their 4-0 victory in a friendly against Tranmere Rovers, Jurgen Klopp implied that the club wasn’t in a hurry to finalise negotiations for further reinforcements. However, our resident Reds are hopeful that most of their transfer business will be concluded before the start of the season, which will give the new arrivals sufficient time to gel and bond with new teammates.

As it has been for the majority of the Summer, Naby Keita and Virgil Van Dijk are still Klopp’s primary targets, according to reports in the press. Historically, Liverpool hasn’t been afraid of purchasing talent from within the Premier League. Thus, our landlord has highlighted two Arsenal players who would be better off at Liverpool.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
The Englishman is in the final year of his contract, and he is yet to renew. The 23-year-old would significantly enhance the options of most Premier League teams, he is homegrown and flaunts priceless versatility. During his time as an Arsenal player, the ‘Ox’ has operated as a winger, and attacking midfielder, a central midfielder and even at right wing-back.
It is exceedingly rare to find a player who can function and perform well in numerous positions; this is of tremendous benefit when rotating players or when trying to identify cover for starting players. Southampton’s former starlet is arguably good enough to start for Liverpool; his arrival would notably augment the quality of Klopp’s options.
Olivier Giroud
Liverpool require a goalscorer, Olivier Giroud could prove to be the perfect fit. Roberto Firmino has been excellent leading the line for the Reds. However, he has failed to score more than 11 league goals in a season for Klopp. While this is a decent total, a striker must display greater ruthlessness in front of goal, that killer instinct that separates decent strikers from great strikers. Firmino is regarded for his link-up play and excellent work ethic, Giroud is regarded for scoring goals.
In five seasons with Arsenal, the lowest total of goals he’s scored is 16, his total from last season, where he was used as a rotational option. Given a starting spot in Klopp’s squad he could thrive, he’s a proficient finisher and has a superb ability to retain possession. The Reds have required goalscorer since Suarez departed, the Frenchman could be their solution.
