Chelsea have had a mixed start to the Premier League season, much to the disappointment of the Blues faithful in the Tavern…
However, the fact they won the league in 2014/15 with a similar squad to the one they still possess does indicate that there is talent there.
Amongst that talent, there are some players who actually do a very good job week-in-week-out but always seem to fall under the radar amidst poor team performances.
The punters in the Tavern discussed it this week and they think it’s time that the unsung Chelsea heroes get more credit.
With that said, these 2 Chelsea players are the most under-appreciated at the club – Agreed?
Cesar Azpilicueta

Dave, as he is known by all those with a vested interest in Chelsea, is one of their most under-valued players. Whilst Chelsea’s main problem in the past one and a half seasons has undoubtedly been in defence, Azpilicueta is not the one typically at fault.
We’ve seen many a mistake from Gary Cahill and the right full-back Branislav Ivanovic but Azpilicueta is one of the more consistent Chelsea performers.
He is rarely caught out in a positional sense and he also has something to offer going forward.
Whilst his performances are rarely outstanding, they are consistent and right now, Conte would hope for a few more Azpilicueta’s in the defence to shore things up slightly.
Oscar

Oscar isn’t talked about in the same magical breath as teammate Eden Hazard, despite the fact the the Brazilian is far more consistent.
Granted, Oscar doesn’t always turn up – but rarely does he go several weeks without a goal or an assist – and Hazard almost went an entire season without one last year.
Oscar does a key job both offensively and defensively, and his role in the Chelsea first team is so undervalued that it is almost criminal.
Chelsea’s first team does not work without Oscar.
