Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are welcoming the international break, and will be hoping that their side will come out the other side a refreshed team.
Chelsea so far this year have not been firing on all fronts, having slipped out of the top-four due to poor form and having suffered several defeats, and the Blues in the bar seem to be feeling down and disappointed in the team.
Antonio Conte is not only battling the media with this current rocky patch but also the board, as it seems he is living on borrowed time. While they are still Premier League champions and are fairing better than last time they won the league under Jose Mourinho, it seems a change at the helm is inevitable.
Conte will be hoping that a break from the rigours of Premier League football will help his players come back refreshed and raring to go and gain one of the Champions League places. With that in mind, our landlord takes a look at which two players should be looking at themselves the most…
Alvaro Morata

The Spaniard has gone well off the boil recently and, needs to refind his form with new January signing Olivier Giroud looking more like Conte’s first choice striker.
If Morata is to have a future at Stamford Bridge, then when he comes back from the international break he needs his shooting boots on.
He started the season very well, but if he doesn’t end it well, he could find that his time at Stamford Bridge will be over before it has really begun. He’s got the talent, but he needs to bring it to the foreground.
Tiemoue Bakayoko

The summer signing from Monaco hasn’t set the world alight with his Chelsea displays, many of the fans here in the pub feel like Bakayoko is more of a liability at times than anything else. Chelsea needs a strong midfield and Bakayoko has the potential to be a crucial part of that.
He’s powerful, technical, and he proved for Monaco last season that he has the talent to succeed.
With the majority of the players not giving it their all, Bakayoko has the excuse of him adjusting to life in the Premier League. However, coming towards the end of the season he should start to show the adaptation.
