Nemanja Matic
The Serbian midfielder is reportedly keen to depart the Champions this summer, and a move to Tottenham could be unlikely, yet it would be a beneficial transfer for the 28-year-old. With Kante, Fabregas and Bakayoko all seemingly ahead of Matic in the pecking order, Spurs should make their move.
Matic has a superb ability to dominate proceedings in midfield with his commanding presence and terrific ability to retrieve possession of the ball. While the partnership of Wanyama and Dembele has been very productive, Matic has greater experience at playing and winning at the highest level. Spurs have come agonisingly close to winning the league on two occasions, yet failed twice. They’re devoid of players who understand the process a team must undertake to become Premier League champions. As a two-time winner of the league, the Serbian would provide Spurs with invaluable knowledge.
Charly Musonda
Mauricio Pochettino’s willingness to integrate and develop his younger stars is common knowledge. Also, Spurs’ need for a winger is equally known among the football community, Charly Musonda ticks both boxes. Regarded as one of the most talented young players at Chelsea, the Belgian has yet to feature once for the senior team and is viewed by many as a quintessential product of the Blues’ relentless loan system. Despite impressing at Real Betis, the 20-year-old failed to secure a starting spot due to disagreements with his manager.
Under the guidance of a manager like ‘Poch’, who flaunts a treasured record of promoting young talents and entrusting them with first-team duties, Musonda could thrive and become one of the most splendid talents in the Premier League.
