Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are always on the lookout for their youngsters and how they are progressing, with many of them being in the vast network of Chelsea’s loan system throughout Europe.

Chelsea, more than any other team, have a plethora of loaned out players and talented youngsters gracing Europe to further enhance their careers, with the ultimate dream of returning to SW6 to become a first-team regular. However, there are few that have the success story that Andreas Christensen does, with his loan moves building him up to become a first-team regular at Stamford Bridge recently.

Many of the local Blues in the bar would love to see more local and young talent come through the ranks in a drip feed style to the first team squad – that’s the one thing that gets the fans excited more than anything.

For some, though, that just doesn’t happen, and the players often have to move away to get their chance.

With this in mind, our landlord has taken a look at two of the many youth players at Chelsea that should be looking at a potential exit this summer in the hunt for regular football…

Kyle Scott

The midfielder can play defensive, centre or even in attacking midfield. Some in the pub say he could go on to be one of their great box-to-box players in the future. Indeed Chelsea’s midfield is hammered with international talent, but Scott’s chances of breaking through into the first team are very slim.

He’s had a lot of involvement in the squad this season, but that’s mainly down to a lack of depth in Conte’s squad.

Realistically, at 20-years-old, a move away might be best for him at this point.

Tammy Abraham

The striker is currently on loan at fellow Premier League side Swansea City, after impressing for Bristol City last season. Indeed, he’s a massive talent and one that many in the bar are eager to watch his progress.

Not a lot has been mentioned about the Englishman and his return to Stamford Bridge. Whilst Chelsea struggle they could have a homegrown player within their ranks just waiting for the opportunity to take, however, it seems Abraham may have to look elsewhere for regular first team minutes in his future.

With Michy Batshuayi set to return at the end of the season, it’s tough to see where Abraham will fit in.
