These 2 Chelsea youngsters need to start considering their futures

Share

Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern are always on the lookout for their youngster and how they are progressing.

Chelsea more than any other team, have a plethora of loaned out players and youngsters gracing across Europe to further enhance their careers. However, there are few that have the success story that Andreas Christensen does, with his loan moves building him up to become recently a first-team regular at Stamford Bridge recently.

Many of the local Blues in the bar would love to see more local and young talent come through the ranks, in a drip feed style to the first team squad. Indeed, the pressure is so high on teams in the top half of the Premier League, that many would opt for a ready-made player than nurture a youth academy prospect.

With this in mind, our landlord takes a look at the many youth players at Chelsea and see which ones need to start seriously considering their futures at the club…

Tammy Abraham

The striker is currently on loan at Swansea City, after impressing for Bristol City last season. Indeed, he’s a massive talent and of that many in the bar are eager to watch his progress. Much has been made of Chelsea’s attacking options this season and there’s seems to be many links to several attacking players for the summer, though perhaps he could save the club a pretty penny.

Not a lot has been said about the Englishman and his return to Stamford Bridge. Whilst Chelsea struggle they could have a homegrown player within their ranks just waiting for the opportunity to take. However, it seems Abraham may have to look elsewhere for regular first team minutes in his future.

Kyle Scott

The midfielder can play defensive, centre or attacking midfielder, some in the pub says he could go on to be one of their great box-to-box players. Indeed Chelsea’s midfield is crammed full of international talent, and while the young American barely gets a game for the development team, his chances of breaking through into the first team are very slim.

A shame for such a talent, though he should think about his future.
