According to The Mirror, Liverpool are in the race to sign Schalke left back Sead Kolasinac with our resident Reds fans here in the Transfer Tavern hoping a deal can be done.
It’s small wonder they feel this way, too, with the way the Reds’ defence fell apart last weekend in the latest demonstration of their lack of options in their squad.
It should have alarmed Jurgen Klopp the way that they went to pieces without Joel Matip around and clearly highlighted that more defensive bodies are needed in the team.
Whilst James Milner has done a good job standing in at left back he is by no means a suitable long term option in that position and so if the Reds want to win the league, Kolasinac could be key.
Our landlord doesn’t think the spending should stop there, though, and reckons these two players could also come through the Anfield door in January…

The young Dortmund midfielder really has the world at his feet right now and will likely only get better in the years to come.
That’s why, then, our landlord reckons the Reds just have to go for him as they have the perfect manager in Jurgen Klopp to help him excel. The German knows exactly how to bring young players with potential through to being the real deal and, according to The Metro, Klopp’s presence could seal the deal.
Geoffrey Kondogbia
For all Liverpool’s midfield talent they lack a real driving force in midfield.
Whilst Emre Can and Georginio Wijnaldum are good carriers of the ball they don’t maraude forward like some and certainly not like Kondogbia. Our landlord thinks he’d be a top Premier League player and would certainly boost the Reds this season whilst according to The Mirror, the club are the favourites to sign him in the near future.
