These 2 players could potentially follow Musonda to Celtic in the summer window

The title may be won but now is the time for Celtic to really make waves as a football club.

Brendan Rodgers knows that the lack of competition in Scottish football means that his side needs to now make a real impact in the Champions League next season, and our landlord believes that the Northern Ireland boss must achieve this in order to be deemed a success at Parkhead.

He believes that this starts with the summer transfer window and it should be a busy transfer window for the Hoops, as they look to bring in some new talent as well as clear some deadwood among their ranks.

One player that has reportedly interested Rodgers is Chelsea starlet, Charly Musonda.

The 20-year-old Belgium midfielder doesn’t look like breaking into the Blues side anytime soon and Celtic may look to take advantage of that, and adding him to their ranks.

Musonda was previously on-loan at Real Betis for the first half of this season, and would be another impressive youth player to leave the Blues due to lack of first-team opportunity.

It is safe to say that the Celtic fans in the Tavern don’t know a lot about Musonda, which has led to them discussing other potential transfer targets they have seen in the press.

Of course, this has led to much debate in the Tavern and the common view is that these players could really enhance the Celtic squad.

Let’s take a look at the most common TWO players’ names that may follow Musonda to the Hoops this summer…

Lucas Leiva

Whilst the Mail reported Musonda potentially moving to Celtic Park, the same article also claimed Brendan Rodgers was looking at reuniting with Lucas Leiva in his quest to establish his Celtic side in European competition.

What Lucas will bring to Celtic is ten years top-flight experience in England and a real commitment to the cause.

The thought of him alongside Celtic captain, Scott Brown would just strike fear into opposition midfielders – especially those shy of the tackle.

Alongside this, the Bhoys in the Tavern are frothing at the mouth of the signing of Lucas and really feel the Brazilian could make the difference for their side.

Henry Onyekuru

When Moussa Dembele’s future was up in the air in January, it was reported that Rodgers looked into signing Onyekuru from KAS Eupen for £1 million.

Now the summer has come round and Onyekuru has attracted attention from other clubs, most notably West Brom, West Ham and Everton – the Belgium side are now looking for £7 million for their young teen starlet.

Of course, the story of Dembele is fresh in the mind of the Bhoys within the Tavern and if Onyekuru can do anything similar to the French striker, then they want him at their club.

The trust really is there in Rodgers to get the best out of young talent and that is no different with the potential of this transfer.

Our landlord also believes Onyekuru should consider Celtic seriously.

Whilst they are looking at becoming a competitive European side – the Hoops do have a history of being a fantastic stepping stone side for players, and Onyekuru may use the club as a stop gap until he moves onto bigger things.
