Our Tottenham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping Pochettino will revamp the squad in the summer, in a bid to finally bring a trophy to the club in their first season in their new home.

The Argentine boss will be looking to reinforce his squad in the summer to make another attempt at the Premier League title. Indeed, one of last summers buys Fernando Llorente reportedly wants out of the club that he has spent the majority of his time on the bench at this season. Llorente is looking to gain first-team minutes elsewhere after failing to impress at the Lilly whites, with his former club Atletico Bilbao a supposed destination.

Following a move from Swansea City on the last day of the transfer window, Llorente has now found himself a bit part player, having been benched 19 out of 22 games. Our regulars seem to think if Llorente leaves, it will open the door for a couple of others to follow in his footsteps.

Pochettino needs to add some fresh faces to his squad and ridding himself of some deadwood, despite some successful years in recent seasons many of the punters in here believe he needs to start becoming a little more ruthless if he is to take Spurs to the next level.

Having said that, our landlord takes a look at two players that could follow Llorente out of the door…

Michel Vorm

Another former Swansea player, Vorm has fallen right down the pecking order in recent times, and following his display in the FA Cup semi-final the 34-year-old may consider moving elsewhere in a bid to get some minutes under his belt as he enters the twilight of his career.

It’s going to be hard to dislodge Lloris and with another two ‘keepers fighting it out, a move away for the experienced shot-stopper may be the most logical of moves. He’s certainly a good ‘keeper, though getting past the aforementioned Lloris is a difficult task for anyone.

Moussa Sissoko

Having been used a fair amount this season, the French midfielder surely has no real future at Tottenham. In fact, he’s been a total flop since his hugely expensive move from Newcastle United way back in 2016 and has looked so out of place when called upon.

None of the Sissoko we saw excel for France at the European Championships a couple of years ago has shown up for Spurs and the punters propping up our bar think it’s time he left.

If Tottenham can recoup even a figure of the fee they paid for him, it’d be a total miracle.
