Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping to rescue Luke Shaw from his Old Trafford nightmare and gain the quality from a player who showed so much at Southampton prior to his move back in 2014.
Chelsea have been struggling since the new year began, that is for sure. Antonio Conte’s future has been up in the air on more than one occasion and the team are playing with none of that Italian fire in their belly that he displays on the touchline.
Things have to start to change for next season, furthermore, our regulars believe being more aggressive in the transfer market and cherry plucking Luke Shaw from his Man United hell would certainly help, given the latest rumours.
If Chelsea want to fight again for the title and aim to win it for the third time in five years, then a couple of key areas have to be addressed in order to strengthen the team. Although bringing Shaw in would be somewhat of a gamble, given his current state of mind and form, surely he would pick up again after being released from the shackles of Jose Mourinho.
Whether that happens or not, change is needed this summer and new arrivals within the team need to happen, and our barman believes Chelsea would be right by following up Shaw’s possible arrival with these TWO players…
Toby Alderweireld

In what would be a controversial move, Chelsea should be going for the Spurs defender to sure up their backline, as this season hasn’t been the best for club captain Gary Cahill. With age bound to start catching up on the English man, a replacement should be high on the agenda.
Alderweireld has all the attributes and experience to make it at a club like Chelsea and with his game-time dramatically decreasing following his comeback from injury, now would be a great time to make a move.
Edinson Cavani

The PSG hotshot is having an exceptional season so far in Ligue 1, as ever. The striker is averaging a superb goal near enough a game ratio in the league and having no problems finding the back of the net. Chelsea need a forward with that ability at the moment, as their current two are not playing at the level expected, which is one of the main reasons for the sudden decline.
With a striker like Cavani in the team, Chelsea could mount a serious challenge next year.
