These 2 players surely must not start for Tottenham against Man Utd – Agreed?

Here at the Transfer Tavern many punters have been impressed by the start that Tottenham Hotspur have made as, but for a blip against Chelsea, they haven’t lost a game in the league this season.

That in mind, then, this could be the best time for Spurs to come up against an out of luck Manchester United side who haven’t really hit the heights many expected them to since Jose Mourinho’s arrival in the summer.

However, this is a vital game for United, too, as they look to keep up a top four challenge this season after seeing their title hopes pretty much dashed.

That being said, then, it is important that Mauricio Pochettino gets his team selection right ahead of the game and puts his team in the best possible position.

And, in order for that to be the case, our landlord reckons Tottenham must leave these two players out the team…

Moussa Sissoko

Sissoko

The Frenchman hasn’t been the best since his arrival from Newcastle in the summer and has been criticised pretty much from day one here in the Transfer Tavern.

Many Spurs punters are even calling for him to be sold at a cut price this January with him being deemed seemingly nowhere near good enough for the club.  our Magpies fans here in the Transfer Tavern are feeling pretty smug for offloading him.

Kevin Wimmer

With the Belgian Toby Alderweireld having been out injured, Spurs have struggled with defensive issues and Kevin Wimmer hasn’t done much to help his side when he’s been on the pitch.

Spurs have Eric Dier who can play in central defence and so he should be starting there at Old Trafford this weekend instead of the Austrian whilst Alderweireld nears his return. Meanwhile, our resident Lilywhites punters think that, in the long run, a new centre-half signing wouldn’t go amiss for the club.
