Steven Gerrard made a total of 15 signings this summer to replace the so-called deadwood who had played a part in years worth of disappointment for the club and fans.
Some have been good, some have been bad, some have been quality and some have been downright abysmal. Indeed, the ex-Liverpool man will be considering his options come January as he looks to really push on in Rangers remaining domestic and European competitions.
This, of course, may result in the movement of more players in and out of the club as Gerrard’s final tweaking of the season commences.
With that in mind, here are two Rangers players that haven’t done enough to warrant a place in the current squad and will likely be moved on…
Umar Sadiq
Umar Sadiq has been so poor since joining the club and he should be returned back to Italy as soon as possible before he frustrates fans anymore.
His time on the pitch when stumbling off the bench has been less than illustrious, and so his lack of action is no surprise.
There’s literally no reason we can think of for Gerrard to prolong the club’s and the player’s suffering, and it’s in both parties interests to terminate his loan as soon as possible.
Wes Foderingham
This is a move the player probably wants himself after falling behind in the pecking order to ex-Hull City stopper Allan McGregor.
It’s a tough old life being a reserve goalkeeper, and even harder when you were once the number one.
Foderingham was linked with a move away from Rangers earlier this year, according to SunSport, but a transfer never materialised. And since then he’s seen his time on the pitch reduced to four appearances, which we’re sure hasn’t encouraged his spirit and will to stay in Scotland.
