Southampton are greatly known here at the Transfer Tavern for their ability to produce some world class youngsters.

The likes of Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Adam Lallana spring to mind in recent years.

The problem for the Saints in recent years has not been their ability to produce the talent, but in fact keeping them at the club.

Although you cannot doubt the fact of how much profit it’s brought the club, subsequently allowing the likes of Dusan Tadic, Manolo Gabbiadini and Virgil van Dijk join the club in recent seasons.

It is only a matter of time before the next generation of players decide to leave for pastures new, which could also bring in another hefty load of cash for the south coast side.

JOSH SIMS

The 19-year-old striker has made a crazy amount of impact in a short period of time with the Saints under Claude Puel this season.

It also helps that Sims is English as that seems to help to add around £10-million plus to his value.

With the undoubted talent this lad has, his value will only go up as he features more for the club.

HARRY LEWIS

The shot stopper didn’t have the best debut in the FA Cup when he featured in a 4-0 defeat to Arsenal.

But the 19-year-old English shot stopper has been a superb keeper in the youth ranks at the Saints and at England youth level.

Good young English goalkeepers aren’t easy to find so it could be that a big club comes calling when Lewis gets his chance, and Southampton could get a hefty fee for the Shrewsbury born player.
