Celtic supporters have been drowning their sorrows in the Transfer Tavern in the last few hours after seeing their side thrashed 7-1 at European heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain in their penultimate Champions League group stage match, thus taking their aggregate score against the French club to 12-1 over their two clashes.
Brendan Rodgers’ men went into their encounter at the Parc des Princes having won one of their four group stage games, and thus giving them a great chance of qualifying for the Europa League. And the Bhoys threatened a famous result when Moussa Dembele gave them a first minute lead, only for Unai Emery’s side to hit back with vengeance by netting seven unanswered goals to maintain their lead at the top of Group B, and thus leave several Celtic supporters bitterly disappointed in the French capital on Wednesday night.
Nonetheless, it was never a game Rodgers’ men were expected to win and as such attentions are quickly turning to their Scottish League Cup final against Motherwell on Sunday, where the Bhoys will seek to defend the first of three domestic titles they eased to last season.
Elsewhere, there has been plenty for our resident Celtic fans to get their teeth into, not least recent reports linking them with a move for Astana forward Patrick Twumasi.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed a wonderful campaign in which time he has bagged 14 goals and laid on nine assists in 40 appearances for the club, taking his overall tally for the Kazakhstan outfit to an impressive 54 goals and 28 assists in just 140 appearances.
And his sparking form has reportedly attracted the attention of Rodgers’ Celtic, and were Twumasi to make the move to Parkhead in the January window, here are TWO other stars who would also improve the Bhoys were they to move to the Scottish giants…

Liam Moore

Reading defender Liam Moore has been in impressive form for the Royals ever since making the move to the Madejski Stadium back in 2016.
The Englishman played a key part in helping Jaap Stam’s side reach the Championship play-off final last term, albeit his missed spot-kick did contribute to their defeat, and he has started this term solidly as well with starts in all 17 of their league games, in which time he has bagged three goals.
And his fine efforts at the heart of the Reading backline have reportedly attracted the interest of Rodgers and Celtic, what with the Bhoys having faced somewhat of a centre-back crisis at times so far this season.
And were Moore to continue producing the goods in Berkshire, it’s a move which could certainly take place in the January transfer window.
Richmond Boakye

Richmond Boakye’s goal-scoring form for Red Star Belgrade this year has been nothing short of sensational.
The 24-year-old only made the move to the Serbia outfit back in January but has since gone on to score 33 goals in just 42 games for the club, including 18 in 23 appearances this time round.
And with four goals in their 6-1 hammering of FK Rad on Saturday, the Ghana international continues to go from strength to strength, and has unsurprisingly attracted much interest from around Europe, with Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Swansea City, and of course Celtic reportedly interested.
And it would be a huge statement of intent were Rodgers’ side able to get a deal done for Boakye in January, and as such they should do all they can to lure the striking sensation to Parkhead in the New Year.
