These 2 Sunderland players need to leave to fulfil their potential

Sunderland are in a real fight but if we’re being honest they’ve done well to even get to that point this season.

Many felt as the weeks wore on without a win for the Black Cats that they were going to go down with a whimper in Aston Villa-like fashion, but after winning at Bournemouth last weekend they have shown they are ready for a fight.

They’re currently six points off of safety and are bottom in the Premier League but look like they have a bit more momentum than the club that is joining them in the basement, Swansea City.

That modicum of forward movement could be the spark of an unlikely revival for the north east side but if things do go pear-shaped, they’ll need to start thinking about the good of some of their players.

The club have a handful of decent looking individuals that are better than Championship football and our landlord reckons that with all this uncertainty around the club, these TWO players in particular need to move on to realise their big potentials…

Jordan Pickford

The young goalkeeper really could be as good as he wants to be and looks like a potential Premier League mainstay for years to come.

The issue being, then, that the Black Cats do not look as assured of their place in the top flight and it would be poor to see the young stopper dragged into the lower tier.

He’s got all the attributes to be a potential England goalkeeper so a move could be the only right way forward.

Duncan Watmore

Watmore is another Sunderland player that looks like he could deal with the Premier League and all its rigours over the years to come.

He’s a tricky player and his low centre of gravity can see him out of the tightest of gaps, he just needs that consistency.

Whether or not he gets to do that with Sunderland is up for debate as they fight for their lives but he could certainly do a job for many a top flight side.
