Stoke City haven’t exactly been bold in their transfer activity so far, and the Potters fans here in the Transfer Tavern are a bit well, underwhelmed.

The Potters have added West Brom skipper Darren Fletcher to their ranks, whilst Hull’s youngster Josh Tymon has also arrived on a free.

Mark Hughes’ side will be disappointed with their performance last season.

Despite finishing in a satisfactory 13th, Stoke supporters will be concerned that their side scored 44 points – a low tally by their standards.

Hughes will be aiming to take the Potters to the next level this season.

Many would have cited Ronald Koeman’s Everton as the step up Hughes has hopes to match, but with Everton’s superb summer business, Stoke have fallen even further behind.

Of course, there is still plenty of time for the Staffordshire side to welcome new signings to the Bet365 Stadium.

But just in case that doesn’t happen, we’ve picked out TWO underrated players Mark Hughes has at his disposal…

Bojan Krkic

Bojan left Stoke in January to play on loan for Mainz in the German Bundesliga, in a move that frustrated the Stoke faithful here in the Tavern.

The playmaker has the keys to unlock a defence and the skill to beat his man.

His attacking flair has made the former Barcelona man a fan favourite at the club, but it hasn’t quite worked out for him.

However the Spaniard is back and the Potters fans by the bar are urging Hughes to utilise him more next season.

Saido Berahino

Banned for eight weeks by the Football Association for taking “recreational drugs”, it’s now time for Berahino to get his football career back on track.

The 23-year-old showed so much promise for West Bromich Albion two seasons ago, but has since become a forgotten man, even after making the switch to Stoke in January.

If he can reach the sort of form that earned him an England call up, Mark Hughes’ side can have a successful season.
