It’s fair to say that Bilic has not had the greatest season at West Ham so far. However, like many of the Hammer fans in the Transfer Tavern, the club clearly has faith that they can push up the table and hopefully finish near the top half.

While many fans in the Tavern immediately believe that new signing would change West Ham’s fortunes, it may be the players that haven’t been given a chance that could help West Ham get away from the relegation zone and into the top half.

Whether they be young talents or old names, maybe having them back in the team after an absence might be what West Ham need.

After all, the players that are playing regularly aren’t doing well enough – so Slaven Bilic would be wise to make a change or 2.

With that said, these 2 West Ham players need to ask Bilic for more minutes on the pitch…

 Jonathan Calleri

The Argentine striker has had a torrid 2016 as he was loaned out to West Ham with some promise – but he has failed to deliver so far.

However, after only playing 130 minutes of football, is it a surprise that the striker has not performed.  He clearly is a talented player, and given his age – he certainly has room to grow. He just needs a chance.

If Calleri stays with West Ham in 2017, he certainly needs to play more games to prove the world that he is a good player.

Alvaro Arbeloa

The experienced full-back could certainly be the type of player who could help West Ham right now.

The former Real Madrid man has only been able to make a handful of appearances for the Hammers, which is simply not good enough. He has been one of Europe’s best during his career, and he needs a chance to show that once again.

So in 2017, why not give Arbeloa an opportunity to show why he was a key player for Madrid and for Liverpool?
