It’s no shocker to say that Stoke City are one of the few sides in the Premier League lacking that young and upcoming talent.

This is causing Potters fans here in the Transfer Tavern to have quite a glum expression on their faces when looking at the future of the club.

According to a study from the Express in August of last year, Stoke had the second oldest average age side in the whole of the league, at 28 years and 2 months.

Taking this into account, it’s clear Stoke need some young guns in their side to revitalise a spark in the starting eleven. However, could they be overlooking players who are already in their squad?

That in mind, then, here are two Stoke City wonder kids that could make a breakthrough for the side in the second-half of this season – according to our landlord…

Ramadan Sobhi

The recently turned 20-year-old Egyptian signed for Stoke in the summer of last year.

His flair, creativity and pace on the wings has led to him being dubbed as the next Mohamed Aboutrika, one of Egypt’s greatest players.

However, Stoke fans have not seen any of Sobhi’s silky skills this season, with the winger only making one league start and recently being out on AFCON duty for his country.

With the recent departure of Spanish maestro Bojan, the Potters will need someone to fill in that creative slot, Sobhi could be just the man.

Saido Berahino

Since his unexpected move from West Brom last month, it’s a been a bumpy ride to Berahino’s Stoke career.

Only making appearances as substitute against Everton and West Brom, news recently surfaced that the Englishman served an 8-week FA ban prior to joining his new club.

Nevertheless, Berahino is just 23 years of age and has a bright future ahead of him. With Peter Crouch forced to lead the line all season, it’s time for a change. Mark Hughes, make it happen!
