Our Celtic fans here in the Transfer Tavern have loved the job Brendan Rodgers has done this season in helping the club becoming an even more dominant force in Scottish football.

When the Northern Irishman took over at the club many wondered just what he was going to be able to do to make the Bhoys and even bigger force than they were in Scotland.

They needn’t wonder any more, though, with the club looking in far better shape than when they were under Ronny Deila and seriously in with a chance of going a season unbeaten in the top flight.

The next step has to involve some of the club’s great young players, though, and when you look at who they’ve got knocking about, there’s certainly some talent there.

So, with that in mind, here are two young players that are going to potentially be worth their weight in gold over the coming seasons – according to our landlord…

Kieran Tierney

Tierney is well-established in the Bhoys’ back four and should be a mainstay there for years to come.

Of course, the only threat to that is if one of the big Premier League sides or one from around Europe come calling and with his talent there’s every chance they could. He may be better suited to staying at Celtic for a little longer for now, though, as first-team football cannot be taken for granted.

Jack Aitchison

What a young star this guy could turn out to be.

Born in the year 2000, Aitchison already has a senior goal to his name and could be seriously one to watch for both club and country over the next few years. Both Celtic and Scotland want to have another top-class, homegrown, forward leading their respective attacks and without wanting to get too far ahead of ourselves, Aitchison could be the one.
